Next Step: What do you Want in a Home? Make a list!

You’ve finally been pre-qualified for a home, and now you’re ready start searching for the home of your dreams! There are still a number of things to consider when purchasing a home. As a future homeowner, it is truly important that you know what you want in a home to make this process easier. This also helps your realtor to make sure that you’re provided with the properties that match your interests.

Here are some examples of what to consider when it comes to searching for your home:

  • Location: You should have a general idea of what location you possibly want to move in. For example, I prefer to live outside of the city of Orlando but close enough to get to work. I also rather live in west Orange County than east. So, I prefer to live in Winter Garden or Apopka.
  • Type of home: Some people may prefer a single family home with a nice backyard. Others may not want to worry about lawn care, so they purchase a condominium. Find the right type of home that’s perfect for yourself (and/or your family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦).
  • Price: This is the most important thing to consider, in my opinion. You never want to “bite off more than you can chew” when purchasing a home. Find a home that you truly can afford and be able to enjoy your life outside the home.

Because there are so many things to consider for your home, I recommend a checklist to help you narrow down what exactly you want in a home. I’ve found the perfect one provided by HUD for you, so CLICK HERE and get started!
